Impressions: This marvelous little courthouse dominates the small town of Anderson. While Grimes county is not that small in population, its county seat only has about 300 residents (at least its that when courts not in session). I really liked the style – we don’t see many Italianate buildings in our courthouse travels. And it’s been restored, so that when you go in, you see all kinds of neat eye-catchers from the late 1800’s. This is definitely one of those buildings you don’t want to visit unless the building is open. If you’re on a trip from Houston to Austin or somewhere else in central Texas, you might want to detour through Anderson and take in this hidden gem.
