     Voelker & Dixon    –  Standking Courthouses – Callahan, Cottle, Grayson,           Gregg, Jack, Knox, Rockwall, Van Zandt, Waller, & Wilbarger

Eugene Heiner  – many buildings lost to ‘progress’, standing – Brazoria (now the county museum) – Lavaca, Wharton, Colorado (minus the original tower), and Runnels.  Japser County has seen many changes since first designed by Heiner.  more info here
James Reily Gordon – Standing – Bexar, Comal, Ellis, Erath, Fayette, Gonzales, the stunning Harrison courthouse, Hopkins, Lee, the majestic McLennan Courthouse, Wise, and Victoria county courthouses.  More info Here

Henry T. Phelps =  Standing Courthouses – Atascosa, Blanco, Brown,               Dimmit, Frio, Jim Hogg,  Kenedy, Kimble, LaSalle, Mills, San Patricio,       Schleicher, Willacy & Uvalde counties.  Terrell courthouse was                   redesigned so that there’s no resemblance to the original.                                       More info Here

Wesley C. Dodson  – Coryell, Hill, Hood, Lampasas, Parker, Denton and                 Fannin (which has just begun restoration to the original)

       David S Castle – Borden, Irion, Mitchell, Reagan, Stephens,  Sterling &                      Winkler.  Upton is no longer recognizable as designed by Castle

       Wyatt C. Hedrick – Austin, Coke, Coleman, Commanche, Kent Motely,                       and Yoakum.  His firm did the Brazoria courthouse addition after                     his death.

Atlee B Ayres – Standing Courthouses – Cameron, Jim Wells, Kleberg and Refugio

          A N Dawson– Archer & Sabine

          C H Page & Bro/Son – standing – Anderson, Hunt, Orange, Travis and                      the ‘twins’ – Ft. Bend & Hays

         Frederick & Oscar Ruffini – Bastrop, Blanco, Callahan, Concho,                                 Crockett, Mills, Robertson, Sutton, and Tom Green

         Alfred Giles – Brooks, Gillespie (now a library), Kendall, Live Oak, and                    Webb.  He may have designed Presidio, ahd took credit for                                Caldwell & Goliad.

          Elmer Withers  standing – Jones, Marion, Swisher Roberts & Upshur.  

          Jasper Preston    –  Bastrop & Bell .  F E Ruffini was also involved in                        designing Bastrop.

    Kaufman County – not one of my favorites. Though, considering your interest in mid-century modern – this courthouse is a decent example. Reminds me somewhat of my elementary school.I certainly don’t mind if you wish to use any of the photos. And feel free to contact me. We have visited all of the 254 courthouses – and there are some mid-century modern. I liked Angelina County for that period – but did not like Nacogdoches (early motel?) or Aransas.
