I didn’t think I would like this courthouse as much as I did. I guess it’s just not in a position to be photogenic. It has a stone entrance with a date of 1882 – which must have been put in as the entrance for the previous 1882 courthouse. Also – since the town of Palo Pinto is so small, the courthouse kind of overpowers the town. The courthouse has a nice entrance (with a stylistic eagle and pointed stone work) and good window ornamentation. There’s a frieze over the entrance and all comes together well. Inside – it’s has an impressive foyer into the stairwell. The courtroom has a wooden entrance that’s nicer than most – but it was being used and so we couldn’t go inside. I did get a photo of one of the light fixtures and thought it was unusual and impressive.
