Well, it was time to pack up and head to London for the trip home. We knew we were going back to Oxford, but had time enough for something else. We opted for a stop in Great Tew. What a great choice. Almost all buildings were thatched and there blooming flowers everywhere.
After a bit of searching, we were able to locate the village church of St. Michael’s. It was a ways outside the village and off the road and couldn’t be seen. But it was worth the effort to locate. One of the many village church gems of England.
We then headed back to Oxford for our 2nd visit there. Really, We could have spent 4 or 5 days there. So much to see and do. The main focus of this visit was Christ Church Cathedral and College. The College was used for a lot of the scenes for Harry Potter and the Warthogs.
Walking around Oxford – we caught a lot of the iconic sites that make this city so unique. Oxford is known as the city of spires because oaf all the colleges and there architecture.
We also had the opportunity to visit to other historic Oxford churches – University Church of St. Mary the Virgin and St. Michael’s at the Northgate . St. Mary is the official Oxford University church.
