The walk around Salisbury was pleasant. There is lots of preservation and Salisbury is very walkable. Certainly worth a visit.
from Brittanica – Today the city centre remains much as it was in medieval times, laid out in gridiron fashion. The cathedral and a large number of timber-framed buildings survive. Salisbury is a tourist and market centre. Principal occupations are cattle and poultry marketing, engineering, brewing, leatherwork, and printing. The prehistoric stone monument Stonehenge (designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986) is about 8 miles (13 km) to the northwest. Pop. (2001) 39,726; (2011) 40,302.
