Another Moderne courthouse – they seem pretty prevalent in this area of the state. Clean – ‘modernish’. Nothing spectacular -however -notice the frieze over the entrance. Very intricate – and very local in content. Also of interest was the linoleum tiling – checkered-board! Really period centric. And then there was the courtroom – with original design elements on the walls and ceilings. Really – an interesting Texas County Courthouse stop. Adding to that interest, we had a nice chat with the Carson County Judge – Dan Looten. Very affable – easy to see how he was elected. Just another upper Panhandle county official who was not too busy to meet and greet.
