This happened twice – where the county courthouse wasn’t accessible as it is being completely restored/renovated (the other being Lynn County). In the case of Swisher County – it is being renovated. I have to assume it is being completely modernized. this assumption comes from the fact that the original courthouse – designed by George Withers in 1909, was totally remodeled in 1962 and the original was still there in name only. As the sign said out front – this is a renovation.
