Outside – the courthouse is a clean, kind of minimalist modern style – some nice concrete touches on the entrance, nice lamposts, and in the courtroom, some nice lamps hanging from the ceiling.
This was another of the visited counties in this part of Texas, that we received some type of personal contact with county staff. In this case, we were taken through the courtroom and the old area of the courthouse that served as the jail and the jailer living quarters. Our guide was either a Sheriff Deputy or the Sheriff – sorry, don’t have the name – but really appreciated the time given. In the courtroom – we were shown something unusual – the top of the railing post came off and there’s many signatures. Again, didn’t take notes – but I believe these are signatures of people who’ve served on juries in the courtroom.
