see Castro County Courthouse
see Ozark Trail Markers
see Theaters of the South Plains
This town represented some much of what is strong about the Panhandle of Texas – especially this part of it – Cotton, Cattle and Grain – which I think I captured just standing on the courthouse lawn. All that was missing was something that said oil. The Carlisle was a clean looking theater maybe out of the 40’s or 50’s. In pretty good shape, so it may have only recently closed. And then there was the Ozark Trail Marker. If you’re not familiar with these markers – visit the page linked above.
