The courthouse sits on a corner – not a square like almost every other courthouse we seen so far. It’s heavy in its use of stone and very Romanesque – with a great rounded porch up front. In addition, the tower reminds me of many church towers. It is as Germanic as its community. Sitting on the corner, as it does, eans courthouse views are restricted to a couple of sides.
We took the photos on a Sunday drive to counties northeast and east of San Antonio. So we missed getting any photos of the interior. It’s not far off – so maybe someday we’ll do that trip again – Comal, Guadalupe, Gonzales, Karnes and Atascosa Counties.
