Pictures of the area known as Panna Maria. The Immaculate Conception church represents the oldest Polish Catholic colony/parish in the U.S. Guess where the 2nd oldest is? That’s right – Bandera, Texas – St. Stanislaus.
When Pope John Paul, the Polish Pope, visited this area, he made a special effort to recognize the parish and the parishioners who represent Immaculate Conception and still bear the Polish names brought here back in the 1850’s. There’s even a black Madonna in the church.
