I like moderne – I like art deco – and the Travis County example of moderne is very good. The only thing I would say, however is that after seeing numerous moderne courthouses – they do start looking similar. This one does stand out, however, in many ways. Of note are the window grids and iron works in between levels of windows. Also the door way is quite ornate for moderne and the carvings are the typical eagles. For those reasons – Travis county Courthouse would probably rank among the top of moderne-styled courthouses – at least for me.
