This courthouse and its history and current look are a little difficult to follow.  I’ve done a lot of internet research and didn’t get a definitive answer to whether it’s been restored or not.  But – it seems that the courthouse has had 2 additions (they’re fairly evident), been stuccoed, with the tower being removed at one point, had the tower restored at some point – but the building remained stuccoed…  Get the picture?  Anyhow – an interesting building.  We were not able to into the courtroom as there was a trial going on at the time.  Believe it or not – that’s a little unusual.  Going from the first to second floor – we were able to see the old staircase entombed under the new stairway built to account for different heights of the old and the addition.  The courthouse is neat, as is the court grounds.  There’s green and white striped awnings on the west side of the building which has an interesting door with grill-iron highlights.

Also – there is a historical jail on the grounds.  Seems to be curiously placed on the grounds.  For photos go here.
