County Seat – Pearsall
Built – 1904
Style – non-descript, originally it was built with Romanesque detail
Architect – H T Phelps(original)
Photos taken – January 29, 2006
Impressions – Well, who knows what the original looked like. This rendition isn’t exactly what you would expect of a turn-of -the-century courthouse. It was remodeled in 1937 and 1950. I don’t know of any plans to remodel the courthouse.
We visited the courthouse on a winter’s day-trip out of San Antonio. A Sunday drive – so we weren’t able to get inside. Of more interest than the courthouse is the nearby original jailhouse.
