Built – 1882
Architect – Peterson & Stuckey
Style – some Classical elements
We had a little trouble finding this retired courthouse – it was right downtown – on a traffic circle. It looks much different now than it did in the Kelsey & Dyal book. It was purchased by a law firm – and the front door is now locked. We asked to come in and see the interior but were told we’d have to get permission from the higher ups next door – so we just skipped it. It looks like the dome was removed – and I don’t know what – if any of the original features were retained. I did see some pressed tin on the ceiling of the lobby.
