see Llano County Courthouse, Historic Llano County Jail, Llano Town Square
Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather. I was looking at what might be around Black Rock for our Labor Day 2011 visit – and I noticed that Llano County courthouse had been ‘restored’ in 2007. We had visited Llano in 2004 and it had just been updated. What’s the deal? Well it seems that the courthouse house had been worked on in 2004, but the tower was not restored to its’ original design. If you look at the 2 pictures below, the change is evident and quite striking.
When I revisited it this past Labor Day Weekend, I tried to get there on Friday before it closed. Just as I walked up, there was a nice lady locking up. She let me in, but what I really wanted was photos of the restored courtroom, and she couldn’t open that up for me. So maybe next visit to Black Rock I can get that done. I did take photos of the town square and the historic jail, so see the links on this page for that.
