County Seat – Uvalde
Built – 1927
Architect – Henry T. Phelps
Style – Texas Renaissance
Photographed – 11/16/08
see – Uvalde Town Square
To be honest – Texas Renaissance isn’t my favorite style – though this is an interesting representative. It actually sits facing the town square. Like many of our early visits – this courthouse was closed when we visited – so there are no photos of the interior or courtroom. Not sure we missed anything – and probably won’t go out of our way to capture it. Henry Phelps is one of the more prolific architects of earlier 1900’s.
